Fueled by Music: Strong Enough to Save Sora

The boy was walking down the barrier of light and darkness. Each side was pulling him, but he remained resistant for he wanted to keep walking and keep fighting both sides until he knew which side was safest. But he could never know.
Suddenly, his knees collapse. Once his knees collided with the surface of light and darkness, the knee in darkness bled greatly while the other in light felt no pain.
"The light…it feels warm," the little boy whispered, "But how do I know it's safe? What about the darkness? It hurts…"
"Everything can change," said a voice echoing from the light.
"What?" the boy looked around looking for a face, but the voice reached out to his heart instead.
"In a moment's time, you don't have to be afraid."
"But…but I am," the boy tried to move away from the voice, which caused him to cross over to the darkness. Fear pulled him farther.
The boy screamed and struggled trying to be released from fear's grasp.
"Fear is just a lie," spoke the voice of light. A white figure of a hand reached out for the boy. Out of panic, the boy reached out for the hand.
"I can't reach!" He screamed. His blue eyes were welling up with tears and the fear grew stronger. Then, the boy closed his eyes. He didn't see the light reaching out farther to him and successfully taking his hand.
"Open up your eyes."

The fear was gone. The boy looked around and saw the realm of light consume him. "Where am I?" The boy questioned still holding to the grip of light. "How did you save me?"
Suddenly, the light pulled him upward and the boy started to fly. As they soared through the realm of light, the emergence of water, grass, trees, clouds, the sky, and the oceans met his eyes. His eyes watered again from the speed of their flight, but his emotions became calmed as the wind trailed through his spiked, brown hair and carried him through the sky.
"He'll break open the sky to save those who cry out his name," the light spoke as it carried the curious boy.
"Who's name?"
"The one that the wind and waves obey is strong enough to save you, Sora."

Then they landed on a grassy cliff that oversaw crashing waves outlined in foam. Streams of light danced around Sora.
"Who saved me?" the boy asked again, but then, the peace inside of him led him to sleep and the light surrounded him, keeping him in comfort.

Years later, the sound of thunder awoke him. He noticed he was slightly taller and his hair was longer, but then the sound of thunder and the sight of lightning stole his attention.
"A storm!" Sora started to back away from the rolling black clouds and hid his head under his arms hoping the force of nature wouldn't destroy him.
"Look, Sora. It's not too late," said the stream of light circling him, "Lift up your head; let the rain fall on your face."
"What? Won't it hurt me?"
The light stopped and threw itself into the boy's heart. Then it whispered, "You're not far from grace…you're not too far from grace."
The peace that the light brought led his defending arms to fall. Gentle raindrops fell on his face and brought Sora a chill of relief. He closed his eyes and surrendered to tranquility. The thunder tried many times to scare Sora and the lightning tried to strike him down, but each time, the light defended him.
Then, the blanket of black in the sky broke open with a large beam of light. Sora opened his eyes and saw that the light was lifting him toward the clear blue sky.

The light in his heart spoke again, "He'll break open the sky to save those who cry out his name. The one that the wind and waves obey is strong enough to save you, Sora."

A smile fell on Sora's face as the light continued to carry him. Through his ascension to the light, he fell asleep again.

Years later, he was still ascending, but what awoke him were heavy chains that entrapped his ankles. His blue eyes were hazy with sleep, but as he looked down, he saw the keepers of the chains were villains in black cloaks. Sora started to feel cold. The chains pulled him down, away from the light.

"I know the weight of this world can take you down, like gravity," the light spoke to completely awaken Sora.
"Help me!" Sora yelled as he tried to pull away from the chains. Fear commanded the chains. The darkness commanded the villains.
"I don't want it to take me again!" Sora screamed and tried to fight, but the chains suddenly propelled him away from the light and into the crashing waves.
Born from his fall into the dark ocean, a black figure met Sora's eyes.
"Is…is that me?" Sora asked himself as the shadow pulled him down into the strong currents of the ocean.
The shadow did possess Sora's form. Yellow eyes glared into Sora's blue ones; ribbons of black from the figure entrapped the boy into a cocoon of ebony.

The light in Sora's heart spoke again, "I know the current of yourself can take you out to sea…"

At this point, Sora couldn't breath…darkness started to steal his sight…the weight of this world…the power of the shadows…seeing himself replicated in darkness…it discouraged him.

For a while there was silence. Then that pure voice spoke again, "Hold on, Sora. Hold on."

That voice reminded Sora that the light saved him from fear and from the dangers of this world, but he also remembered that the chains captured him while he was in the sky and the darkness of himself threw him into the sea.

"He'll break…" Sora spoke softly, "Open the skies…to save…the wind obeys him…the waves obey him…"

"Hold on to me, Sora," the voice spoke again, "Call out my name so I can save you."

With the little strength he had left, Sora muttered out his name, "Father Light…"

The world began to shake as He broke through the sky. Then, He broke through the waves. Beams of light pierced the cocoon and He carried His son, Sora, out of cocoon of darkness. With the same streams of light, a blade of gold and silver in the shape of a key was placed in Sora's hands.

The ambience of light surrounded Sora. His son flew from the ocean and started to soar toward the sky, but the chains were still locked upon him.
Sora pointed the keyblade toward the shackles and released himself.

As Sora hovered over the villains that captured him and the anti-form of himself glared with yellow eyes, the light spoke to him, "Many are called to say my name, Sora, but few are chosen as a guardian of Light. Now that you are deemed as a guardian, will you decide to protect the hearts with light inside them? Will you bring them to my kingdom?"

Sora admired the light that surrounded him then looked again to the shadows that hated the him, but also feared him.
Then, the boy remembered his friends; he remembered the ones that fell in darkness, the ones that harnessed the light, the ones that jumped into darkness to rescue him, and the ones that he made promises to. Sora saw how Father Light made friendship his power and light his protection.

He knew his place as a keyblade wielder now and with this revelation, Sora looked up to the sky and replied confidently, "Yes."

Father Light carried his son through the sky then to the doorway of Kingdom Hearts and said, "You've heard these words before, but I will let you hear them again."

"Thinking of you, wherever you are," spoke the voice of a familiar girl. "We pray for our sorrows to end, and hope that our hearts will blend. Now I step forward to realize the wish. And who knows: starting a new journey may not be so hard, or maybe it has already begun…"

Then Sora spoke the along with the girl's voice with a smile, "There are many worlds, and they share the same sky – one sky, one destiny."

~*~*~*

After Sora had this dream, he pursued his destiny to protect Kingdom Hearts. When he confronted the greatest villain that led the shadows to Sora's demise and the capture of Kingdom Hearts, the boy spoke without hestiation:

"The heart may be weak, and sometimes it may even give in. But I've learned that deep down, there's a light that never goes out!

I know now, without a doubt, Kingdom Hearts is Light!"
Hello :blackrose:

I'm starting a "Fueled By Music" Series. Sometimes I listen to songs and they remind me of a certain character or person. Then a scene is created in my head and I just can't help but want to bring it to life.

The song that inspired this piece is "Strong Enough to Save" by Tenth Avenue North. They are a great Christian band with incredible lyrics and very wonderful sound. In the awesomeness that is God, I had a vision of this scene.

Sora being guided by light, discovering Father Light who is the ruler of Kingdom Hearts. That's why, without a doubt, he knows that Kingdom Hearts is light.

I'm presuming that Sora would have this dream somewhere in the first game.

I hope you guys like it. <3 Please tell me what you think.
