It would take months to reach up to 1,000 notifications.

It would take years for the art files to stack up,
stock up, and build up into a gallery,
an entity of art I admired,
of artists that inspired,
personalities that required
messages before I knew them.
I click to their page
before journals were in my face.
The smilies were dA-confounded
instead of tumblr founded.
The love for a writer would stay
giving me a small display,
and their few words would make my day.
Now today?
Stacks upon stacks upon stacks upon stacks,
I don't see the pieces
I'm too busy deleting
1,000 deviations then
1,000 more.
The stacks, they bore.
Only those who caught my eye
would soar,
I'd want more
Because supporting them
is what I'm there for.

It used to take months to reach 1,000 notifications.
Now in a blink there are over 10,000 frustrations.
Hello :rose:

lol I'm sorry. Sometimes I miss the old dA.
I try deleting messages, polls, journals, etc. Then I get too frustrated to even look at the art and that's not even fair.
There are at least 5 groups that I follow that will have over 1,000 submissions. Even though I love the concept of the groups, since categorized pieces of art and literature can be seen at a multitude at a time, the number of messages can be very overwhelming.
Then I feel awful that I couldn't give a fair chance to each submission.

Hell, people get upset enough when you fave and don't comment xD.

And don't get me started on the stinking polls, "hot topics", contest notifications...ugh...

So yeah. dA has had it's ups and downs. I'm just lamenting it's old ways, not really complaining though.

LOL time to put this poem in a couple of groups now xD

I sympathise, DA is not what it used to be, the old DA was a lot friendlier, people took the time to look, now they just want to be seen
